G2 Ocean joins the Diversity Study Group in commitment to advance workplace diversity and inclusion.

As a global shipping company, G2 Ocean connects people of all backgrounds, ethnicity, race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation.

Today, the company is announcing it has joined the Diversity Study Group – an organisation dedicated to championing diversity and inclusion in all forms across the shipping industry.

 “As an international company, we place a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Leveraging the perspectives and opinions sourced from different cultures, backgrounds and experiences is necessary to achieve our full potential,” says Global HR and Organisational Development Director Martha Roed.

Through its 2020 – 2024 strategy, G2 Ocean is committed to cultivating a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are embraced and encouraged.

“G2 Ocean is a global company where all employees should feel a sense of belonging, be valued for who they are, and empowered to make a difference,” Roed says.

As part of the membership, G2 Ocean is conducting a companywide survey in October 2020 to explore levels of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and the shipping industry as a whole. 

“At G2 Ocean, we see this survey not only as a method of providing a measure of diversity in the industry but also as a source of data to act on in our efforts to support greater equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace,” Roed concludes.
